In my year long experience of blogging (not here, though), I have come to believe that every blogger wants maximum number of clicks on their blog. Understandable. I guess, two things fuel this desire - first, the money and second, the feel good factor of being read.

However, I have also realized that the readership of a blog most of the times can never be known. Guess, it’s the same thing as the fact that when you buy a book, it does not mean you read it. My own unread pile, generally taller than the read one, is a testimony to that fact. In the virtual world, it is more the other way round; as in the majority of clicks do not register a read. Ask yourselves - despite having subscribed to, do you read every singly of post every single feed? Very unlikely!

Why do clicks matter then? I don’t know about you, but for me I think it provides the urgency to keep blogging.

I recently stumbled upon this latest online gadget - Feed Journal. The idea is simple yet innovative. Despite the ‘everything online’ mantra of today, it remains a fact that for true lovers of literature, the printed paper still holds good. For all of you who fall in that category - Feed Journal is what you would have always wanted. It’s free, to start with. Just add your feeds and pick the articles within the feed which you want in your paper, check the ‘create newspaper option and bam! There you go. It actually looks like a newspaper, with images and everything. You can even save it in pdf format besides printing it out. I have tried it and loved it. It is definitely in its nascent stage and will undergo hundreds of upgrades to fix it to perfection. But, kudos to them- someone there actually thought about people who love the print format despite being crazy about the virtual one as well. Check it out for yourself. Also visit the creator’s blog.
